Privacy Policy
Last updated 23 August 2026. This policy covers vettatech.ca and our client portal at clients.vettatech.ca.
Who we are
VettaTech is a Canadian web design, hosting and software business. We are the ones who collect and look after any personal information described here. If you want to talk to a person about your data, email info@vettatech.ca.
What we collect, and why
We only collect what we need to answer you, run your services and get paid. Here is the whole of it.
| Where | What | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Contact form | Your name, email address, phone number if you give one, and your message | So we can reply. Submissions are emailed to us and stored in this website's database. |
| Newsletter signup | Your email address | So we can add you to our mailing list and send occasional updates. The address is emailed to us when you sign up. |
| Client portal | Account details, billing address, the services you buy, invoices and support tickets | To provide and bill for hosting and other services you have ordered. |
| Server logs | Your IP address, browser type and the pages requested | Standard web server records, used for security and diagnosing faults. |
Payments
Payments are handled by PayPal and Stripe. When you pay, your card details go directly to them and are processed under their own privacy policies.
We do not store card numbers. Our billing system holds no stored card details at all. We can see invoices, amounts and whether something was paid, and that is all.
Cookies
This website sets a small number of cookies:
- Caching cookies used by our server software to serve pages faster.
- A session cookie in the client portal, so you stay logged in while you use it.
We do not use Google Analytics, advertising pixels, or any third-party tracking or profiling tools. We do not build advertising profiles and we do not track you across other websites.
Fonts loaded from Google
Our pages load the Poppins typeface from Google Fonts. To deliver the font, your browser makes a request to Google, which means your IP address is visible to Google and may be processed outside Canada. We do not send Google anything else, and we receive nothing back about you. If you would rather this did not happen, a browser extension that blocks third-party font loading will stop it, and the site will still work.
Who we share your data with
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for anyone else's marketing. We share it only where it is necessary to run the business:
- PayPal and Stripe, to take payments.
- Our email provider, to deliver the messages you send us and the ones we send you.
- Domain registrars, where you buy a domain through us and registry rules require your registrant details.
- Law enforcement or regulators, if we are legally required to.
How long we keep it
- Contact form messages and newsletter signups: kept while the enquiry is active and for a reasonable period afterwards, then deleted.
- Client and billing records: kept for as long as you are a customer, and afterwards for the period Canadian tax and business records law requires.
- Server logs: kept short term, and rotated automatically.
Your rights
Under Canadian privacy law, including PIPEDA, you can:
- Ask what personal information we hold about you, and get a copy of it.
- Ask us to correct anything that is wrong.
- Ask us to delete it, where we are not required to keep it.
- Withdraw your consent to marketing at any time. Every newsletter has an unsubscribe link, and you can email us instead.
- Complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada if you think we have got it wrong.
Email info@vettatech.ca and we will respond within one business day.
Keeping it safe
The site and the client portal are served over HTTPS with a valid certificate. Access to the systems holding your data is limited to the people who need it. No system is perfectly secure, but if a breach ever affected your personal information, we would tell you and the relevant authorities as the law requires.
Children
Our services are meant for businesses. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle personal information, we will update this page and change the date at the top.
